How to Relocate a Sleep Number Bed

Moving a Sleep Number bed is not as difficult as it might first appear, but you will need a few supplies and a little manpower. Be sure to follow the steps carefully to avoid damaging the bed or your floors.

What you will need:

Two people
A dolly
Moving blankets
Packing tape
A wrench or a screwdriver

Steps:

Disassemble the bed. Start by taking the air chambers out of the bed. Then, detach the base from the headboard and footboard. If your bed has a massage unit, you will also need to disconnect it.
Move the base. Lift the base of the bed and place it on the dolly. Secure it with straps or bungee cords.
Move the headboard and footboard. Lift the headboard and footboard of the bed and place them on the dolly. Secure them with straps or bungee cords.
Wrap the air chambers in moving blankets. To protect the air chambers, wrap them in moving blankets.
Load the air chambers on the dolly. Place the air chambers on the dolly and secure them with straps or bungee cords.
Transport the bed. Move the loaded dolly to the new location.
Assemble the bed. Reassemble the bed in the reverse order of how you disassembled it. Ensure that the air chambers are properly inflated and that all the connections are secure.
