How to Make a Floating Queen Bed Frame

Materials:

1 sheet of 3/4-inch plywood (4 feet x 8 feet)

4 metal bed frame brackets
16 wood screws (2 1/2 inches long)
8 bolts (3 inches long)
8 nuts
8 washers
Paint or stain (optional)

Instructions:

1. Cut the plywood: Cut the plywood sheet into two equal rectangles, each measuring 60 inches wide by 80 inches long. These will form the top and bottom of the bed frame.

2. Attach the 2-by-4s: Attach the two 2-by-4s to the edges of the plywood rectangles, using wood screws. The 2-by-4s should be positioned flush with the edges of the plywood.

3. Install the bed frame brackets: Attach the four bed frame brackets to the bottom of the top plywood rectangle, using bolts, nuts, and washers. Position the brackets evenly spaced along the length of the plywood.

4. Assemble the frame: Place the top plywood rectangle on top of the bottom plywood rectangle, aligning the 2-by-4s. Secure the two rectangles together with wood screws.

5. Paint or stain the frame (optional): If desired, paint or stain the bed frame to match your bedroom décor.

6. Attach to the wall: Determine the desired height of the bed frame above the floor. Mark the wall at the desired height and install the bed frame brackets on the wall, following the manufacturer's instructions.

7. Place the bed frame: Lift the bed frame and place it on the wall brackets. The brackets will support the weight of the bed frame, creating the illusion that it is floating.
