How to Build a Twin Size Bed Frame with Drawers

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Build the Headboard and FootboardCut two 2x6 pieces to a length of 75 inches. These will form the headboard and footboard. Assemble the headboard and footboard by attaching the 2x4 pieces to the 2x6 pieces using wood screws. The 2x4 pieces should be spaced evenly apart, with the top and bottom 2x4 pieces flush with the edges of the 2x6 pieces.
2. Build the Side RailsCut two 2x6 pieces to a length of 39 inches. These will form the side rails. Attach the side rails to the headboard and footboard using wood screws. The side rails should be flush with the inside edges of the headboard and footboard.
3. Build the Drawer Support FramesCut four 2x4 pieces to a length of 34 inches and four 2x4 pieces to a length of 17 inches. Assemble the drawer support frames by attaching the 17-inch pieces to the 34-inch pieces using wood screws. The 17-inch pieces should be centered on the 34-inch pieces.
4. Attach the Drawer Support FramesAttach the drawer support frames to the side rails using wood screws. The drawer support frames should be spaced evenly apart, with the top drawer support frame flush with the top of the side rails.
5. Install the Drawer SlidesInstall the drawer slides to the drawer support frames and the underside of the drawers. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for installing the drawer slides.
6. Build the Drawer FrontsCut two pieces of 1/2-inch plywood to a size of 36 inches x 16 inches. These will form the drawer fronts. Attach the drawer fronts to the drawers using wood screws or nails.
7. Install the Drawer FrontsInstall the drawer fronts to the drawers by sliding them into the drawer slides.
8. Install the Bed SlatsCut seven 1x4 pieces to a length of 72 inches. These will form the bed slats. Space the bed slats evenly apart and attach them to the side rails using wood screws.
9. Finish the Bed FrameSand the entire bed frame and apply your desired finish, such as paint or stain. Allow the finish to dry completely.
