How to Build a Single Over Double Bunk Bed

Instructions
Step 1: Build the FrameCut the 2x4 lumber to the following lengths:
- 4 pieces at 8 feet (for the legs)
- 4 pieces at 6 feet 8 inches (for the sides)
- 2 pieces at 5 feet 11 inches (for the front and back)
Assemble the frame by attaching the side pieces to the legs with wood screws. Then, attach the front and back pieces to the sides.
Step 2: Create the PlatformCut the 3/4-inch plywood to the following dimensions:
- 2 pieces at 6 feet by 3 feet
Attach the plywood to the frame using wood screws. Make sure the plywood is level.
Step 3: Install the SlatsCut the 2x6 lumber to the following lengths:
- 12 pieces at 5 feet 11 inches
Space the slats evenly across the plywood platform and secure them with wood screws.
Step 4: Build the LadderCut the 2x4 lumber to the following lengths:
- 2 pieces at 6 feet (for the sides)
- 4 pieces at 1 foot (for the rungs)
Assemble the ladder by attaching the sides to the rungs with wood screws. Make sure the ladder is sturdy and level.
Step 5: Attach the LadderAttach the ladder to the bunk bed frame using wood screws. Make sure the ladder is secure and does not wobble.
Step 6: FinishSand the bunk bed to remove any rough edges. Then, paint or stain the bunk bed as desired. Allow the finish to dry completely before using the bunk bed.
