How to Build a Queen Size Bed Frame With Drawers

Building a bed frame with drawers is a great way to add extra storage space to your bedroom. It's also a relatively easy project that can be completed in a weekend. In this article, we'll walk you through the essential steps of building a queen size bed frame with drawers.

Before you begin, you'll need to gather the following materials:

Materials:

  • 1x6 pine boards (8 feet long)
  • 1x4 pine boards (8 feet long)
  • 2x4 pine boards (8 feet long)
  • 3/4-inch plywood (4 feet x 8 feet)
  • Drawer slides
  • Wood screws
  • Wood glue
  • Clamps
  • Drill
  • Saw
  • Measuring tape
  • Level
  • Sandpaper
  • Finish (optional)
  • Once you have all of your materials, you can begin building your bed frame. The first step is to cut the boards to the following lengths:

    Board Lengths:

  • 4 - 1x6 boards cut to 6 feet long
  • 2 - 1x6 boards cut to 5 feet long
  • 4 - 1x4 boards cut to 6 feet long
  • 2 - 1x4 boards cut to 5 feet long
  • 4 - 2x4 boards cut to 6 feet long
  • 2 - 2x4 boards cut to 5 feet long
  • Next, you'll need to assemble the frame. Start by attaching the 1x6 boards to the 2x4 boards using wood screws. The 1x6 boards should be flush with the top of the 2x4 boards. Once the frame is assembled, you can attach the plywood to the bottom of the frame using wood screws. The plywood should be flush with the bottom of the frame.

Now, it's time to build the drawers. The drawers are made from 1x4 pine boards. The sides of the drawers are 18 inches long, the front and back of the drawers are 24 inches long, and the bottom of the drawers is 24 inches x 18 inches.

To assemble the drawers, attach the sides of the drawers to the front and back of the drawers using wood screws. The sides of the drawers should be flush with the top of the front and back of the drawers. Once the drawers are assembled, you can attach the bottom of the drawers to the drawers using wood screws. The bottom of the drawers should be flush with the bottom of the sides of the drawers.

Finally, you need to install the drawer slides. The drawer slides are attached to the inside of the frame and the bottom of the drawers. Once the drawer slides are installed, you can insert the drawers into the frame.

Your bed frame with drawers is now complete! You can finish it with a stain or paint to match your bedroom décor.
