How To Build A Bed Wedge

A bed wedge is a great way to prop yourself up in bed and make it easier to breathe, read, or watch TV. It can also help to reduce acid reflux and snoring. Here are the steps on how to build a bed wedge:

Materials:

Two pieces of plywood, each measuring 24 inches by 36 inches
One piece of foam, measuring 24 inches by 36 inches and 6 inches thick
Upholstery fabric, enough to cover the foam
Staple gun and staples
Measuring tape
Pencil

Instructions:

Cut the foam into a wedge shape. To do this, first, measure and mark the center of the foam. Then, draw a line from the center to one corner of the foam. Cut along the line to create a triangle. Repeat this step to create a second triangle on the other side of the foam.
Attach the foam to one of the pieces of plywood. Center the foam on the plywood and staple it in place. Make sure to pull the fabric taut as you staple it.
Fold the fabric over the edges of the foam and staple it in place. Start by folding the fabric over the top edge of the foam and stapling it. Then, fold the fabric over the bottom edge of the foam and staple it. Finally, fold the fabric over the sides of the foam and staple it.
Attach the second piece of plywood to the wedge. Center the plywood on the wedge and staple it in place. Make sure to pull the fabric taut as you staple it.
Your bed wedge is now complete! You can use it to prop yourself up in bed and make it easier to breathe, read, or watch TV.
