Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Cut the Rails:
Cut the 2x6 lumber for the rails. You will need four pieces that are 60 inches long and four pieces that are 80 inches long.
2. Cut the Legs:
Cut the 2x6 lumber for the legs. You will need four pieces that are 18 inches long.
3. Assemble the Rails:
Lay out the rails on the floor in a rectangle. The 60-inch rails should be on the ends, and the 80-inch rails should be on the sides. Attach the legs to the corners of the rectangle using wood glue and screws.
4. Install the Slats:
Cut the 2x4 lumber for the slats. You will need 12 pieces that are 80 inches long. Attach the slats to the rails using wood glue and screws. Space them evenly apart, about 3 inches from center to center.
5. Sand and Finish:
Sand the bed frame to smooth any rough edges. You can then finish it with a stain, paint, or clear finish.
